Before starting the journey, we believe in getting a good understanding of the baseline of the process. For any journey, it is also very important that we clearly know what our end goal is going to be, and in this case we need to define it both from a performance and per unit cost perspective. The second step is for us to figure out what kind of a plan do we want to put in place to bridge the gap between the baseline and the desired state. The plan may involve one or more of the following:
